About Courtney
DeWinter,
Certified Reiki Master Practitioner
And Master Teacher
In
the late 1980s, Courtney DeWinter was introduced to Reiki in a truly
magical way: in the warm, blue waters of the Caribbean Sea swimming
with a pod of dolphins.
Back then, a team of Colorado-based Reiki
masters were leading week-long trips to a dolphin facility off
the coast of
the Yucatan peninsula
in Mexico. The sun was warm. The water was an unearthly blue.
And the friendly dolphins literally were healers.
As the trip participants
swam with the dolphins, each of them was picked by a dolphin who
scanned them with their echo-location (dolphin
sonar) – almost like an organic version of ultrasound sensing.
Once they had scanned their chosen human, each dolphin aimed at
the area on that person’s body that they sensed was injured
or sore and echo-located (sent sound waves) toward the area. Within
seconds,
each person reported that whatever chronic pain they felt was
completely gone.
These magnificent experiences over the course
of several years
set Courtney on the path to a deep connection with dolphins,
animals, the Earth, and Reiki.
She earned Reiki Level 1 and Level 2 certifications in the late 1980s; was certified as a Reiki master practitioner in 2005; earned a Reiki master teacher certification in 2006 -- and then founded Delphine Healing Arts.
(Of note, “Delphine” refers to the
Latin name for the common dolphin: Delphinus Delphus.)
