Clarity Exercise
2: What Do You REALLY Want?
Sometimes, we all make our lives more complicated
than they need to be. And we do this by not being honest about what
we really want. “Shoulds,” responsibilities,
rationalizing, and fear of change get in the way. So here is a very
simple exercise that can help you become clear about what you want.
Try the following:
| • |
Step 1: Relax at your dining table or desk, with
some good music that inspires you (vs. music that makes you
want to get rowdy and dance). |
| • |
Step 2: Light a candle. |
| • |
Step 3: Have paper and a pen ready. Write down the following: “What
I really want is…” |
| • |
Step 4: Focus on the light of the candle for several minutes. |
| • |
Step 5: Then, write down the answer with brutal honesty. |
| • |
Step 6: Be bold, and say what you REALLY want. |
Remember that when we “squash” who
we really are, and what we really want, we are dimming our “light” and
not living out our mission here on Earth.
In fulfilling your mission,
and living up to your potential, you are helping the world.
